Technical Services Unit Statistics & Annual Reports

 

ANNUAL STATISTICS

  • Acquisitions
    • In 2009, Serials and MACC were combined into a single Acquisitions Unit. Annual Acquisitions Unit statistics are posted in Digital Commons annually. An example is here: ____tba_____________________
    • The Acquisitions Unit Annual Report, posted annually in Digital Commons, also contains a statistical supplement with extensive statistical data, e.g. expenditures by fund and format. An example is here: ________tba______________.
    • Serials Stats
    • MACC Stats
  • Cataloging
    • Cataloging annual statistics are gathered but currently not shared or published. In years past, they were incorporated into "Technical Services Statistics" (see below).
  • Technical Services
    • Bill used to produce annual "Technical Services Statistics" that basically were the combined the monthly statistics of the Serials, MACC, and Cataloging Units. An example is here: http://digitalcommons.uri.edu/ts_rpts/17/ 
    • Bill would also take the annual totals from "Technical Services Statistics" and combine them for multiple years, with percent change over time. An example is here: http://digitalcommons.uri.edu/ts_rpts/18/
    • After Bill left, these statistics were no longer produced.

      • The "Serials Unit Annual Report" was posted annually in Digital Commons. An example is here: http://digitalcommons.uri.edu/ts_rpts/57/. As of 2009/10, this report is part of the "Acquisitions Unit Annual Report."
    • MACC
      • The "Monographic Acquisitions and Copy Cataloging (MACC) Annual Report" was posted annually in Digital Commons. An example is here: http://digitalcommons.uri.edu/lib_mac_rpts/7/. No reports were produced for 2007/08 or 2008/09. As of 2009/10, this report is part of the "Acquisitions Unit Annual Report."
  • Cataloging
    • No information about Cataloging annual reports is available.

Collection Development Statistics

 

  • Counts of records by location
    • Bill used to produce an annual count of URI item records by location code to show change over time. Also included were bib locations and total checkin record counts. This can be found here: http://digitalcommons.uri.edu/ts_rpts/21/.   [[[Make procedure on how to do this]]]

  • List of items purchased by fund during a given time period
  • HELIN Consortium Statistics (found in HELIN Digital Commons)
    • "HELIN Collection Statistics" show total items by institution, with pie chart. Example is here: http://helindigitalcommons.org/collect/9/
    • "HELIN Library Collection Growth" shows total items by HELIN library location compared to previous year. Example is here: http://helindigitalcommons.org/collect/12/
    • "HELIN Institutions' Collection Growth" shows total items by HELIN institution compared to previous year, with % change. Example is here: http://helindigitalcommons.org/collect/10/
    • HELIN also collects monthly checkouts by patron type, total checkouts by institution, and requests of Brown by LC classification and institution. These are only of marginal interest for collection development purposes. The data is not aggregated annually, which further limits its use for CD purposes.
